Boom Type is an independent type design practice run by Boom, Promphan Suksumek (b. 1991). After graduating from Type Media at KABK, The Hague, in 2022, Boom established Boom Type in The Hague, the Netherlands. She specializes in Thai-Latin typeface design, wordmarks, and detailed lettering. Boomtype reflects her passion for bilingual design, emphasizing the significance of both Thai and Latin typography in practical use and historical context.

Boom earned her Communication Design (CommDe) BA from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. Her journey into type design commenced during her Visual Communication Master's at Basel School of Design (FHNW) in Switzerland. Before founding Boomtype, she worked as a Type Designer at Cadson Demak in Bangkok for three years.
